With this build, you can pretty easily beat the game with solo (crap) gear. It seems like most of the scary monsters in this game are either cold immune or lightning immune, so having fire as the main element drops them pretty quick. If you go the other way and main Frozen Orb and use Fireball as secondary, the tough monsters that are immune to your main spell are now cold immune and can’t be frozen, so they’re super fast and dangerous. Fire immunes get the Frozen Orb, which slows them down and makes them easy to kite around. So almost everything dies really fast to a couple Fireballs. This will make your main skill Fireball, with Frozen Orb for immunes. If you don’t like the way Meteor aims on console, you can go with Firebolt instead for the synergy (and don't put any points in Meteor or the prerequisites), but I like having Meteor as a backup for slow/immobile enemies, choke points like doorways and narrow hallways, or hitting monsters through walls and doors. Get Frozen Orb around lvl 10 and Cold Mastery around 5, then pump Fireball and Meteor with just 1 point in Fire Mastery. A lot of people say to max Frozen Orb then put extra points into Fireball, but I find it better and more fun to go the other way around. The best way to run a solo sorc without awesome gear is MeteOrb and it’s totally fine on console. But for offline when you're trying to do quests, there are just too many cold immunes. It's really good at running a few different areas, and with sunder charms it might be the strongest build in the game. A lot of people will tell you to run Blizzard, but for offline I don't think it's really best until after you've killed Hell Baal.
